A recent University of Sydney study has shown a link between psychological distress and physical pain in orchestral musicians. The report reveals those suffering performance high anxiety and depression relates to high physical pain.

A study has demonstrated depression and anxiety correlate to physical musculoskeletal pain and even injury.The study of 377 orchestral musicians across Australia showed more than 80 per cent of respondents reported pain interfering with performance.It also discovered more pain related to more anxiety as both factors compound each problem.
