The Aria’s had their 30th anniversary in Sydney last night – with heavy hitters in the Aus music scene being rewarded for their hard work.

Electronic mastermind Flume came out on top taking home the most awards, including album of the year and best male artist.

But the artists weren’t the only winners – this year saw social justice issues win a major slice of air time.

Musicians used fashion and acceptance speeches as a way to preach causes: including marriage equality, lock-out laws and standing rock.
