Jacuzzis, chandeliers, tennis courts, dog food, tampons and sacks of manure – these are just some examples of what politicians in Britain have been caught spending their tax payer’s money on. In Australia, we’re facing a similar problem, with politicians spending parts of their electoral allowances on mortgages and luxury accommodation. Although this isn’t illegal in Australia – is it right? And how do the Australian public feel about their tax money going towards their MP’s personal expenditures?
