A NAPCAN survey has found not even half the Australian population would report known or suspected child abuse – even if they know because a child experiencing it told them. Some of the reasons for turning a blind eye include the feeling that “it’s not my business”, not knowing what to do, and simply finding it too confronting to acknowledge. The survey is part of National Child Protection Week.
