More transplant services are needed to meet increasing organ donor rates

Australia has one of the lowest donation rates in the developed world and 1700 people are waiting for transplants. Around 80 people die every year due to organ shortages. But the number of donors has gone up, especially in Victoria. Now health care activists are calling on the state governments to ensure that adequate transplant services are in place to take full advantage of the increasing rates of organ donations.
