Migrant communities face aftermath as rallies platform white nationalism

Over the weekend, March For Australia rallies emerged in all corners of the country. Events in some states rolled out in the thousands, protesting for what organisers presented as preservation of Australian identity.

Amid crowds, Neo Nazi members were prominent, according to reports, with rallies linked to far right, white, nationalist ideologies – seeing fringe ideals pushed further into mainstream view.

In the aftermath, migrant groups and migration experts point to rising hate speech, racism and growing misinformation.

The Wire spoke with Amar Singh, President for Turbans 4 Australia to hear more on the feeling from the Indian community.
