After a short party room meeting in which George Christensen broke National Party tradition and nominated against the anointed Leadership candidate, Michael MacCormack has replaced Barnaby Joyce as Nationals Leader and Deputy Prime Minister.

Despite not being as popular as Deputy Leader Bridget McKenzie, most Nationals fell into line to vote in Mr MacCormack – one of the least known Nationals Leaders since Federation.  Will this finally allow Malcolm Turnbull to take back the agenda?
