Today the world celebrated as 38 year old Bulgarian man Darek Fidyka became the first paraplegic to walk after ground breaking surgery to repair his severed spinal cord.

Despite this being a massive achievement for medical scientists, there are concerns that Mr Fidyka’s story will give sufferers false hope in regards to their own potential for recovery.
