Manus typhoid scare prompts calls for Australia to act

Four men from the Manus Island Detention Centre  are in hospital in Port Moresby with at least one confirmed to be suffering from the highly infectious typhoid fever. With fears that the centre is ill equipped to deal with an outbreak , PNG Prime Minister Peter O’Neill has today asked Australia to deal with it, and advocates and doctors are demanding that sufferers be evacuated and vaccines and antibiotics distributed immediately.
