Malaysia’s former opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim has been released from prison by the country’s new Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad.

Anwar has declared a new dawn for Malaysia, with the two previous political enemies now committed to working together towards reform.

This event follows the recent historic toppling of the former leader Najib Razak in the election last week.
