Academics at Sydney’s Macquarie University today reacted to the comments of its Professor Andrew Fraser who last week stated publicly that he believed the White Australia policy should once again be reinstated. The Professor has been shown imense publicity over the last week, after being interviewed on A Current Affair where he further stated that asian immigration “threatened the social, political and economic interests of ordinary Australians and their children”. However, lecturers at the besieged university in western Sydney today stated that they all largely agreed that Mr Fraser’s comments were not acceptable and that he should be disciplined.
