Long lost stories help rebuild culture and language

More than eighty years ago a German linguist in Western Australia noted down stories that he was told by local Aboriginal people. Those notes surfaced only a few years ago those long ago stories have become a gift from the past.

They’ve now been interpreted and  published as illustrated books with the help of the descendants of the original storytellers. Indigenous author and Miles Frnaklin winner Kim Scott helped with process which hesays was a very emotional one for many involved.
