Many Australians are unsympathetic towards homeless people. That has been the key finding of a survey done by Hanover For Our Homeless. The survey found that 79% of the people believed that the homeless were to blame for their own predicament. Tony Kennan, Chief Executive of welfare organsiation, Hanover For Our Homeless, says that there are currently over 100,000 homeless people living in Australia, with 34% of these people being under 24, and 10% being under 12. Tony Kennan spoke with The Wire about some of the other key findings of the survey.
