Lack of funding for Muslim youth centres could lead to violence

Fadhi Rahman, a youth worker from Auburn, has used the death of armed robber Khaled Dib, to highlight the lack of services for young Muslim men in the suburbs. Whilst attending Dib’s funeral last week, Rahman, who once headed a centre for young Muslim men in Auburn, said that funding promised after the Cronulla riots has never been delivered. He says the lack of support for young, alienated men will lead to further problems with crime and anti- social behaviour.
