Anthony Albanese says the establishment of an Australian Centre for Disease Control would warrant that issues such as a shortage of medical supplies at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic could be avoided. The body would facilitate regular pandemic preparedness drills and generate a National Medical Stockpile. Shadow Health Minister Chris Bowen says health experts have made requests for such a centre for the last three decades.
