Keep it in the family: a fresh look at tackling drug addiction

A new report looking at the impact parental drug abuse has found that as many as one in eight Australian children are living in households affected by alcohol and illicit substances. Released today, the report, “Drug Use In the Family: Impacts and Implications for Children”, was commissioned by the Australian National Council on Drugs, and says that the best way to improve the situation of these kids is through the implementation of a range of family-based treatment, harm minimization and parenting assistance programs.
