Jones drops a bomb on ALP
Well the Labor Party must be getting used to bombs being dropped by party members by now. First it was Latham with those damn diaries, now National Party President, Barry Jones has dropped another stinker, in an article the Australian Fabian Society. According to Mr Jones, The Australian Labor Party is doomed to lose the 2007 federal election unless it undertakes a major structural reform. He says “factional warlords” rule the party, while it suffers “policy anorexia”. But is the party’s leader, Kim Beazley, who celebrates 25 years in parliament today, going to listen, and is the party doomed to failure if it doesn’t. Erica Vowles put these questions to the Head of Macquarie University’s Politics Department, Geoffrey Hawker.
