Israeli universities are at the cutting edge of science and technology but their politics departments are coming under fire. Israeli academics refuse to condemn their government’s actions in occupied territories and only present one side of the story. In protest, the UK Association of University Teachers will vote on a motion to boycott these academics in their annual council next week. Birmingham University lecturer Sue Blackwell is one of the authors of the motion and she explained to Jonathon Lucraft why the boycott is necessary.
