On Tuesday with a vote of 36 to 32, the government’s cleaner energy futures legislation finally became law. But is the media to blame for the continued public scepticism surrounding climate change?

The public still remains unconvinced about the laws with a Sydney Morning Herald poll showing 49 percent are opposed to it and 45 percent support it.There are now calls for the media to step up in its coverage of the debate and bring back the science to the public conversation.
