Public opinion is very much against the Federal Government’s proposed changes to industrial relations laws. And with rumours growing the Government may struggle to pass the changes, even though they now control the senate, the Australian Democrats say they have a timely compromise. They’re willing to support a single industrial relations system, although they still oppose the radical changes to workplace relations. Democrats spokesperson Senator Andrew Murray told The Wire he believes their proposal is in the national interest.
