Inquiry into sexual abuse puts spotlight on whistleblowers

The special inquiry into the alleged cover-up of child sexual abuse began today, partially sparked by Detective Chief Inspector Peter Fox. Inspector Fox alleged that the Catholic Church and police in the Hunter Valley in New South Wales covered up accusations of child abuse, and ordered him to stop investigating the matter. The inquiry is separate to the Federal Government’s Royal Commission on sexual abuse.
