Indigenous students from across the country recently gathered in Canberra for a leadership program to empower young people to take an active role in representing their communities.

The Work Exposure in Government Program brought together 55 students to Parliament House to provide hands-on experience and exposure to job opportunities.

Program Facilitator Dany O’Niell says it aims to bring students together to walk in the halls of power to stand strong in their culture.

National Indigenous Radio Service’s reporter Micah Kickett spoke with Mr O’Niell and Year 12 student Kenneth Samuel Osborne about the program and the opportunities for young Aboriginal students.
