The Northern Territory government is mulling over it’s political performance, after the week-end election which saw them retain power by just one seat. The Country Liberal Party shocked many commentators with a nine percent swing and a seven seat gain. Indigenous issues, such as the federal invention and a historic court win for aboriginal landrights has focused the nations attention on the NT in recent times. But did race play a part in the week-ends election results? And why was there such a strong swing to the CLP?
