Faced with criticism from local community leaders and health groups, Woolworths Group have retracted their proposal to construct a liquor store surrounded by three alcohol-free Indigenous communities in Darwin. The company launched a review into the plan to make sure no concerns from the community had been “overlooked”. This decision has been celebrated by local health service leaders.
