Indigenous Australian rock art under threat in the Pilbara

Last Thursday, Tanya Pliberseck denied an application to block the construction of a fertiliser plant. With its building set to commence near ancient Indigenous rock art, some are criticising Pliberseck’s decision for causing possible harm.

Although she asserts the decision was the right one, others believe she is contradicting recent federal commitments prioritising Indigenous affairs.

Operator of Ngurrangga Tours Clinton Walker spoke to Mia Rakhit about how Pliberseck’s decision highlights bigger issues in how we treat Indigenous land.
