Following the London bombings in July, the British government introduced a raft of new anti-terrorism measures not unlike the ones being debated in Canberra at the moment. These laws have come under intense scrutiny, following the fatal shooting of Brazilian Jean Charles de Meneses, who was wrongfully suspected of being a suicide bomber. Just one week after that shooting, French national David Mery was also arrested in London for supposedly acting suspiciously. He spoke to Peter Godfrey about what happened.
