Content warning for First Nations listeners– the following has the name of a deceased Warlpiri man

Earlier this week, grassroots community group Justice Not Jails, delivered over 700 letters to NT Parliament. The letters called for an independent investigation into the death of 24-year-old Warlpiri man, Kumanjayi White, who died in police custody in a Coles supermarket in Mparntwe, Alice Springs last month. Despite continued calls for an independent investigation, the NT Chief Minister and Acting Police Commissioner have said the matter will be investigated internally.
