While many of the protesters are concerned with broad issues such as global warming, domestic policies such as the Howard Government’s planned Industrial Relations reforms and the de-regulation of the education sector are also on the agenda at today’s protest. But can multinationals in general really be blamed for many of the domestic policies the Howard government is planning to pass through the Senate? And is a general criticism of all multinationals an effective argument to mount? Ahead of the protest today’s The Wire’s Erica Vowles discussed these issues with Sydney University’s head of International Political Economy, Professor Frank Stillwell.
