The latest Sydney Pollack film ‘The Interpreter’ is fictional but clearly parallels the situation in at least two dictator -run countries. Film reviewer Nick Prescott says that when Hollywood decides to engage with politics and when the movie has names like Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn it does tend to raise the status of that political issue in the eyes of the general public.
