Leaders of the Gumatj clan have signed a rare 99-year lease, after 10 long years of negotiations with the Government.

The lease will allow members of the Gunyangara community to control and make decisions regarding their own land.

It is the first lease of this length in Australia, and provides traditional owners with financial security to continue developing the thriving community.
