Elder abuse is a hidden epidemic. Earlier this week a parliamentary inquiry heard that an around 50,000 seniors in NSW have experienced some form of neglect, violence or exploitation, often at the hands of a trusted member of their family. Education is a key step to helping elderly people understand their rights, as is clear communication that it’s not their fault.
