Health reform commission recommends radical change

A body commissioned with finding a solution to Australia’s ailing health services has released an interim report in Canberra today. The National Health and Hospitals Reform Commission (or NHHRC) has outlined three options for improving the national health system, aiming to stop the “blame game” between State and Federal bodies. The most radical proposal involves a social insurance style of service delivery, which would require a total overhaul of the now State controlled health network.
