Lawyers for Dr Mohamed Haneef have criticised the Australian Federal Police submission to the Clarke Inquiry for lacking accountability, transparency and honesty. Dr Haneef was arrested in July 2007 and held in detention for nearly a fortnight before being charged with recklessly providing a SIM card to a terrorist organisation in Britain. The case was dropped due to lack of evidence but not before Haneef’s visa had been cancelled. The AFP’s submission was made available to the public yesterday.
