Growth insecurity: workers beg to differ with economic optimism

The national economy continues to hum along, spurred on by the mining boom and China’s demand for our resources. At least, that’s the picture painted by many prominent economists. But ask Australian workers how they feel about the economy, and you might get a different answer. A survey just released by the Australian Workers Union says that almost two thirds of workers are concerned or very concerned about the current state of the economy.
