The Greens are calling for a cap on the amount candidates can spend on an election campaign. The call follows claims that in Saturday’s Western Australian federal senate election, the Palmer United Party outspent all other parties combined, spending more than the Liberals by a factor of ten-to-one. Party leader billionaire Clive Palmer says he doesn’t know how much he spent.
