An argument has broken out over how to best support jobs in Tasmania after the government gave the green light to another iron ore mine in Tasmania’s Tarkine region.
Venture Mineral’s Riley Creek mine received the federal stamp of approval on Monday (05/08) from the Environment Minister Mark Butler.It’s the second mine approval in a matter of weeks for the Tarkine region.Despite opposition from mining councils and workers unions, environmental activists in the region aren’t giving up hope just yet.
