Bob carr today became the first Australian premier to suggest it’s time to consider nuclear power as an alternative to fossil fuel. The global warming debate has been warming up the public for a re-think on the nuclear issue. Scientist and South Australian Green Denis Matthews warns that it’s a path Australia doesn’t need to take and that when well resourced countries like Australia and Indonesia start suggesting building nuclear reactors it’s often warfare they have in mind rather than cheap electricity.
