The GST might be difficult to understand but it certainly gets passions going between federal and state governments. Yesterday Prime Minister Julia Gillard announced a review into how the tax will be distributed. State discontent with the current system was given as one of the reasons for the review, due in 2012. The Australia Institute’s Dr Richard Denniss gave us his thoughts about the government’s decision to overhaul the GST arrangements.
