It has been two years since the release of the Murphy Report, which aimed to address the growing impact of online gambling in Australia. Despite the report’s 31 recommendations, community advocacy groups say the federal government has failed to act on reforms.

In response, a coalition of crossbench MPs recently wrote to the Minister for Communications and Sport, Anika Wells, calling for action to address online gambling advertising.

Mark Kempster, is a gambling reform advocate, but struggled with gambling throughout his twenties. He says, the way gambling companies would target him with advertising intensified his addiction.
