The Minister for the Redfern-Waterloo Authority, Frank Sartor is in hot water over some ill-judged comments made on Sydney’s Koori Radio yesterday. Morning talk host Paulette Whitton had Mr Sartor in for his first ever interview on the vexed question of Aboriginal housing on The Block. They began discussing a letter sent to Mr Sartor by the CEO of the Aboriginal Housing Company, Mick Mundine. Mr Sartor then told Mr Mundine to get off his “black arse” and meet with him over redevelopment in Redfern. Reactions have been running hot ever since the gaff, with Moree Plains Shire Councillor Tony Dennison saying the Premier should call for Mr Sartor’s resignation, just as he did with former Opposition Leader John Brogden. The Premier says he won’t be following that course of action.
