Football Fans Against Sexual Assault

On Saturday two womens and mens high profile footy teams ran onto the field wearing purple armbands in solidarity against sexual assault. The Brisbane Bronco’s and the Manly Sea Eagles, as well as the women’s New South Wales and Queensland State of Origin teams were approached by an organisation called Football Fans Against Sexual Assault or FFASA, who are running the purple armband campaign. FFASA is a web-based campaign set up by AFL and NRL footy fans to provide a voice for them. Cinnamon Nippard spoke to Kath Haines, co-founder of FFASA, Veronica White, President of the Australian Women’s Rugby League, and Peter Peters, Manager of the Manly Sea Eagles Rugby team.
