Flotilla Fury: Reports of maltreatment of Australian Activists breaking blockade

7 Australian activists have been deported from Israel to Jordan. It is unclear whether they will then be repatriated back to Australia.
Reports from the Australian diplomatic staff in Israel have revealed the serious mistreatment of Australian activists involved in trying to break the IDF’s naval blockade in Gaza.
Last week, a fleet of ships were intercepted off the coast of Gaza by the Israeli Navy, which resulted in over 170 activists from all over the globe being detained including Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg.
While the activists were detained in the high-security Ketziot Prison, it was reported they were physically beaten, waterboarded and denied access to food and water. It was also reported that activists had their passports torn up in front of them.
The Israeli foreign ministry has since denied these claims, ensuring that all those involved in the Hamas-Sumud provocation were treated justly with access to sufficient food, water and medical care.
