Thousands of public service workers around the country are on strike today, kicking off what is set to be weeks of industrial action. They are striking in response to the Federal government’s ongoing attack on workers’ rights. The Community and Public Sector Union, who represent agencies including Medicare, Defence and the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, say their requests for urgent talks have been ignored.
