The film In the Shadow of the Palms hasn’t had much of a showing in Australia in spite of winning awards overseas. Director Wayne Coles-Janess would like it to be eligible for nomination in the Academy Awards but Ten Canoes is the favourite for nomination for best Foreign Film and to get it eligible for Best feature Documentary the film needs money which Coles-Janess is preparing to raise himself.
