Approximately 400 people seeking asylum have been identified as having their personal details, including their claims, disclosed on the searchable Commonwealth Courts Database.

This breach potentially places hundreds in danger, warns the Refugee Advice and Casework Service, as it may allow the foreign authorities that people are making claims against to use this information to enforce punishment if these people are sent back to their countries of origin.

For people that have been effected by the data breach, the Refugee Advice and Casework Service is available to assist those who need advice on how this breach might impact them.
