Indigenous models are heavily underrepresented in the fashion world. Kira-Lea Dargin is a model of Aboriginal and Russian heritage who founded Aboriginal Model Management, Australia’s first agency dedicated to representing Indigenous models. She set out with the goal to create more opportunities for indigenous models and breakdown stereotypes. Kira-Lea was surprised by how the industry responded.
