Extinction Rebellion protests have been disrupting thousands of people’s “business as usual” days the past week, as demonstrations have been held in more than 60 cities around the world. Their rebellion is a response to what protesters call inadequate action on the ecological crisis facing our planet.

But are disruptive tactics the best way to achieve climate action? The Wire’s, Kvitka Becker spoke with one of the organisers of the South Australian leg of the Extinction Rebellion protest and with an author of a book about the history of Australian protests.
