Leading euthanasia advocate Dr Philip Nitschke has had a roller coaster of a ride with his campaign for the Right to Die. For a short time in the 1990’s euthanasia was legalised in the Northern Territory, but the law was overturned a short time later. Currently euthanasia remains illegal and is set to become more so when amendments to the criminal code become law in a few weeks time. He told Annie Hastwell the new laws mean people could be heavily fined for just talking about end of life options.
