Last month, an eleven-year-old Aboriginal boy took his own life. His age is shocking, but highlights just how deep the problem of youth suicide runs. Currently, the rate of suicide for Indigenous people is double that of non-Indigenous people, and the statistics are worse for young Indigenous people. There is no easy solution. But a new report hopes to tackle the problem from a different angle.

The Elder’s Report, released as part of a new campaign to end youth suicide, speaks to 31 Elders and community representatives from 17 communities.
