The Channel Deepening Project at Port Phillip Bay, Melbourne began today amidst protests and an ongoing court challenge. Dredging began in a restricted area of the South Channel of Port Phillip Bay after delays brought about by legal action taken by Blue Wedges, an environmental group who focus on protecting the bays around the greater Melbourne area.
